Lemon Yellow Cake

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 box instant pie mix

Mix together well and add

  • 3/4 cup cooking oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 4 eggs, 1 at a time

Mix well and bake in a large pan as 1 layer at 350°.

May use vanilla cake mix and lemon instant pie mix.

FILLING:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp butter

Pierce holes in hot cake and pour filling on the cake and into the holes til all is used up.

This cake was taken from Mrs. Mildred Swift‘s TV program and is especially good.
