Ruth Wade
- 1 lb light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3 sticks oleo or butter
- 5 egg yolks, add 1 at a time
- 3 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup pecans
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 5 egg whites, beaten
Blend oleo and sugar well. Add 1 egg yolk at a time. Then add flour alternately with milk, add baking powder and finely chopped nuts, beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
Grease and flour stem pan.
Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
