Fig Refrigerator Cookies

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped figs
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Cream butter, sugar and egg together. Add dry sifted ingredients to first mixture. Alternately with milk. Add nuts an figs. Mix well and make into roll. Wrap in waxed paper and chill. Slice thin and bake on a greased cookie sheet, 12 to 15 minutes in 400° oven.
