- 3 medium bananas, peeled
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 2 tsp brandy flavoring
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
Slice bananas lengthwise, then in half. Melt butter in chafing dish. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add bananas.
Cook 3 to 4 minutes in butter mixture. Add brandy flavoring and cream. Serve hot over ice cream.
Serves 6 to 8.
Variation:
For flaming dessert, omit brandy flavoring. Prepare as above and just before serving pour 2 tablespoons brandy over fruit and ignite.
