  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup Karo® syrup
  • Pinch salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/8 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup nuts

Mix sugar, Karo® syrup, water and cook to 248°. Pour one-half of this over, the egg whites that have been beaten stiff, but not dry. Return remainder of syrup to stove. Cook at 272° and add to egg white mixture. Beat. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop into a greased platter.
