Chili Sauce

Gloria Wines, S.H.S.

  • 1 peck ripe tomatoes
  • 1 dozen medium onions
  • 6 to 8 bell peppers
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 quart vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 Tbsp celery seed
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp black pepper
  • Red pepper (optional)

Mix chopped tomatoes, onions, and pepper. Sprinkle with salt. Cook till some of the juice boils out. Add other ingredients. Cook slowly until thick (about 2 hours)
