Ranch Steak

  • 2 lb round steak
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 package or can onion soup mix
  • 1 large onion, sliced

Cut steak into 1 inch strips. Dredge in flour and brown well in hot shortening. Place in casserole or roaster. Spread sliced onions over meat and salt and pepper to taste. Add soup and water; cover and simmer on low heat for two hours, or until tender.

Serves four.

Serve with carrots and boiled potatoes for a great meal.
