Chicken-Fried Burgers

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbsp finely chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup

Mix ground beef lightly with mustard, salt, pepper, green pepper, and milk; shape into 4 patties about 1 inch thick. Pan-fry over medium heat in butter or margarine, just until browned on both sides. Spoon soup over; stir lightly to blend with drippings, being careful not to break patties; cover. Simmer, basting patties, 10 to 15 minutes.

Serves 4.
