- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 3/4 cup sugar, divided
- 4 Tbsp cocoa, divided
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cup hot water
- Whipped cream (optional)
Combine flour, 3/4 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons. Stir in milk, butter and vanilla. Pour batter into a 9 inch square baking pan. Combine 1 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa and salt; mix well. Sprinkle over batter. Pour hot water over top.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
Serve warm.
This dish is a pudding and cake together.
