Plain Cake

Jatis Skains, D.H.S.

  • 1 3/4 cup sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp lemon flavoring
  • 1 cup Wesson oil
  • 2 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Cream sugar and oil well; add eggs, one at a time. Continue to beat entire time. Add flour and flavorings. Bake in tube pan (greased and floured) at 325° doe 45 minutes. For a different flavor, I sometimes substitute the teaspoon of lemon flavoring with butter flavoring, almond flavoring, etc.
