Layer Fruit Cake

Cake:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cup blackberry seedless jam
  • 1 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 Tbsp allspice
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 3 cup flour

Use general method of mixing. Bake in 3 (9 inch) pans at 375°. Cool before spreading icing..

Icing:

  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cup sweet milk

Boil until thick. Let cool. Beat until ready to spread. Spread between each layer, on side and top.
