Beefsteak – Pizza Style

  • 2 lb chuck steak (1 inch thick)
  • 1 (16 oz) can tomatoes (undrained)
  • 1/2 tsp oregano leaves
  • 1 tsp chopped parsley
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 Tbsp minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • 2 Tbsp olive or salad oil
  • 4 slices Mozzarella cheese

About 1 hour and 50 minutes before serving, preheat oven to 350°F. Arrange steak in 10x6x2 inch baking dish. Mash tomatoes with spoon; spread evenly over meat. Sprinkle with oregano, parsley, garlic, onion, salt, pepper and oil.

Bake, uncovered, 1 hour and 15 minutes. Top meat with cheese; bake 30 minutes more or until fork tender.

Makes 6 servings.
