Steak Smothered in Onion

  • Round steak
  • Flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Bacon drippings
  • Onion, cut in rings
  • 1 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Cut steak in serving pieces (as many servings as you want). Salt and pepper to taste and beat with edge of saucer well. Dredge in flour and brown in bacon drippings fast on both sides. Add onions rings (be sure and put plenty). Cover with tight fitting lid; turn heat low and simmer 10 minutes. Add vinegar mixed with hot water.

Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until steak is done.
