Hunter’s Stew

  • 2 lb (lean cubes ) beef or deer
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 6 medium onions. chopped
  • 6 medium carrots, chopped
  • 6 medium potatoes, diced

Roll meat in flour. Brown in oil. Add water, tomato sauce and seasonings; cover tightly. Cook over low heat for 1 hour or until meat is tender. Add onions, carrots and potatoes; cook until tender, about 30 minutes.

Yields 6 hearty servings.
