Quick Rolls

Vergie Stringer, SHS

  • 1 package yeast
  • 6 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cup warm water
  • 2 Tbsp shortening
  • 4 cup flour

Dissolve yeast in 1 cup water and 2 tablespoons sugar. Mix rest of ingredients with remaining cup of warm water. Work into soft dough. Let stand in warm place for 1 hour. Work down; make out rolls. Let stand another hour or until they rise.

Bake at 400°.

Brush with margarine.
