Squash Puppies

  • 2 lb squash
  • 2 large onions
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup corn meal mix
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • Sweet milk to mix
  • 2 or 3 jalapeno peppers

Chop up onions, peppers and squash in a bowl. Add eggs, meal and flour. Pour milk in like you would for a corn bread consistency. Drop in hot grease by spoonful. (They will turn themselves over when they are brown enough on one side.) Cook until golden brown. (Put peppers in according to taste. If you like them hot, add more peppers.)

Good with fish.

Yields 40 pieces.
