Chocolate Cake

Cake:

  • 2 cup flour
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp soda (baking)
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 4 tsp cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Mix flour, sugar, soda, and cinnamon together. Melt butter, cocoa and water. Bring to boil and pour over dry ingredients. Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes on 350°

Icing:

  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 tsp cocoa
  • 6 tsp buttermilk
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Nuts, if desired

Mix in saucepan 1 stick butter, 4 teaspoons cocoa and 6 teaspoons buttermilk. Bring to boil and add 1 box powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla and nuts if desired.

Spread over hot cake. When cooled, cut for serving.
