Chocolate Pound Cake

  • 1/2 cup Crisco®
  • 1/2 lb butter or oleo
  • 3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 5 eggs (one at a time)
  • 3 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup sweet milk

Add 1 cup shortening, 3 cups sugar creamed together and mixed well and 1/2 cup cocoa, creamed well. Add 5 eggs (one at a time) beat well after each.

Sift together:

  • 3 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Add alternately with 1 cup sweet milk to which 1 tablespoon vanilla is added.

Bake in tube pan at 325° for 1 hour 20 minutes.
