Black Walnut Cake

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 3 cup flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 4 eggs

Cream the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together and stir in vanilla and milk. Add the black walnuts, then eggs and put in floured 9 inch round cake pans.

Bake at 375° until cake tests done.

White Fudge Frosting:

  • 3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped black walnuts
