Apple Cheese Crisp

  • 2 lb tart cooking apples
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsifted flour
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Peel and slice apples into a 2 quart baking dish. Pour orange juice over apples. Sprinkle with cheese.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cut in butter until mixture is coarse. Sprinkle over apples and cheese.
  3. Bake 40 to 50 minutes until brown.
  4. Serve warm.
