  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/3 cup oleo, melted
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 Tbsp semi-sweet chocolate bits, divided
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whipping cream, whipped
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries
  • 1 tsp shortening

Combine first 3 ingredients, mixing well. Firmly press onto bottom and sides of lightly greased 9 inch pie plate. Bake at 325° for 10 minutes. Cool completely. Place 1/2 cup chocolate morsels in top of double boiler; bring water to boil. Reduce heat to low; cook till morsels are melted. Set aside to cool. Beat cream cheese with mixer until light and fluffy; add brown sugar and vanilla, mixing well. Fold the whipped cream into cream cheese mixture. Spoon filling into crust. Chill at least 8 hours. Set aside 1 strawberry and cut up remaining berries into thick slices. Arrange slices over filling. Place whole strawberry in center. Combine remaining 2 tablespoons chocolate morsels and shortening in a small saucepan over low heat; cook until morsels are melted. Drizzle over strawberries.
