- 1 cup soft butter or margarine
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup granulated sugar or confectioners sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp almond extract or 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 to 2 cup finely chopped walnuts or Brazil nuts
Mix butter and sugar until fluffy, then add salt, flavor, flour and nuts; mix well. Refrigerate until easy to handle. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown at 350°.
While cookies are warm, roll in confectioners sugar.
Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
