Cherry Cobbler

  • 1 cup pitted cherries
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 Tbsp butter


  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • Enough milk to hold together

Divide dough in half and roll out.

Mix flour, cornstarch, cinnamon and cherries. Cook until thick and add butter. Put 1/2 of cherry mixture in pan; put dough on top. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Add rest of cherries and put other crust on top. Slit top crust.

Bake at 350° until brown.
