- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 up ice water
- 2 cup plain flour
Put flour and salt in mixing bowl. Make a hole in the middle. Put the remaining ingredients in and work up a stiff dough. When all is mixed, take small pieces of dough and roll out thin on floured board. Put about 2 tablespoons of fruit on one side. Fold other side over and seal with a fork or fingers. Fry in hot salad oil.
Electric skillet is best to use.
Makes crust for about 3 dozen pies.
