Caramel Brownies

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 14 oz caramels
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Cook caramels with 1/2 cup evaporated milk until melted. Mix cake mix, butter, 1/2 cup evaporated milk and nuts together. Stir by hand. Press 1/2 batter in 13×9 inch pan by hand. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over mixture thin. Spread caramel mix over chips. Press rest of dough on top and bake at 350° for 18 to 20 minutes. Let cool and refrigerate.
