Etta Mae Barron

Farmerville First Baptist Church Sesquicentennial Cookbook 1847-1997

  • 3 cup sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 cup butter flavor Crisco
  • 3 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup sweet milk
  • 5 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup coconut (if you want coconut)

Mix sugar, butter, and Crisco and beat well. Add one egg at a time. Add milk, flour, baking powder, and vanilla. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours (do not over-cook).

You can make this a plain cake. You can put any flavor you want or you can add your coconut to make your coconut pound cake.
