Farmerville First Baptist Church Sesquicentennial Cookbook 1847-1997

  • 1 box dark chocolate cake mix (Duncan Hines®)

Bake in 2 layers. Cool and slice to make 4 layers.

Filling:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup ebaporated milk
  • 1/2 stick oleo (or 8 Tbsp)

Mix and cook 10 minutes. (I cook mine in microwave about 4 minutes.) Add 20 large marshmallows and heat until fairly smooth. Add 14 ounces shredded or flaked coconut. Put the filling between the layers.

ICING:

  • 3 Tbsp cocoa
  • 3 1/2 cup (1 lb) powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Mix cocoa and powdered sugar well. Add milk (may need a few drops more) and vanilla. Ice top and drizzle down sides. Add chopped pecans if desired.
