Chocolate Sheath Cake

Farmerville First Baptist Church Sesquicentennial Cookbook 1847-1997

  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 cup flour
  • 4 Tbsp cocoa
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Boil 2 stick oleo and water, stirring until smooth. While hot, pour over sugar, flour and cocoa. Dissolve soda in milk and add. Next add beaten eggs, vanilla, and salt. Pour into greased and floured pan (cookie sheet). Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 25 minutes.

ICING:

BOIL:
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 6 Tbsp milk
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa

Add 1 box powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Add nuts and-or coconut and spread over warm cake.
