- 4 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup white Karo® syrup
- 3 egg whites
- 2 cups nuts
- 1 tsp vanilla
Boil sugar, water, and Karo to good soft-ball stage. Have egg whites beaten stiff. Continue beating and gradually pour 1/2 of syrup over egg whites. (I cook it until the ball when you get it our of the water is hard to mash.) Pour over first mixture and beat with mixer until begins to lose its sheen and stiffen. Add vanilla. Remove from mixer; add nuts and drop on wax paper (need 2 to dip before it gets hard.)
