Meat Loaf with Zest

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 medium carrot, grated
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 6 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 Tbsp prepared mustard

Put ground meat in large bowl. Pour milk over bread crumbs and add to meat. Add salt, pepper, carrots, onion, and beaten eggs. Mix thoroughly and put in a loaf pan or baking pan. Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Pour over meat loaf. Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours. This is good made with ground vension.
