Mary Jon’s Pepper Steak

  • 1 round of steak
  • 1 onion, cut in strips
  • 1 tomato, cut in strips
  • 1 plus Tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt, pepper, and garlic salt to taste
  • 1 can mushrooms

Brown seasoned and floured steak in small amount of shortening. Remove from pan and cut in strips. Put back in pan and add remaining ingredients, adding tomato last. Cover with 1 cup water and cook until tender. Serve over rice.

For variation you can add 1 small can tomato sauce for more tomato flavor.
