- 3 cups cake flour of plain flour, sifted
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 6 eggs
- 3 cup sugar
- 1 cup Crisco®
- 1/4 tsp soda
- 1 Tbsp vanilla or almond extract
Add salt and soda to flour. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Alternately add flour and sour cream on mixing speed. Add vanilla. Pour in greased and floured Bundt® pan. Bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees, then check for doneness. May take a little longer.
Note from Lovie: For those of you who may not know, Janet is the granddaughter of Ross and Mary Alma (Leon’s youngest daughter). I wish they had sent Mary Alma’s sweet milk gravy recipe because nobody in the world could make it like Mary Alma. Talk about good!!!
