Christmas Cookies

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 pound candied orange slices, finely chopped
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup sifted powdered sugar

Combine butter and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl; stir in eggs, mixing well. Add flour, candied orange slices, and pecans; stir until blended.

Spread batter into a well-greased 15x10x1 inch jellyroll pan. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Cool 15 minutes in pan. Cut into 2 inch squares; cut squares in half diagonally, if desired. Cool completely in pan Remove from pan, and sprinkle all sides with powdered sugar.

Yield: about 3 dozen.
