- 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs,; beat well. Add melted chocolate and vanilla; beat well.
Sift together flour, baking powder, and cinnamon; stir in raisings and pecans. Add to creamed mixture.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.
Yield: 11 dozen.
