Cream Cheese Crescents

Rolled and Sliced Cookies
Christmas Cookies

  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • Sifted powdered sugar

Cream butter and cream cheese. Combine flour and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Shape dough into 8 balls wrap each in plastic wrap, and chill at least 2 hours.

Roll each ball into an 8-inch circle on a lightly floured surface; cut each into 8 wedges. Combine walnuts, 1/3 cup sugar, and cinnamon; sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon mixture over each wedge; shape into a crescent. Place point side down on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes or until lightly browned; cool and dust with powdered sugar.

Yield: about 5 dozen.
