Christmas Cookies
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Cream butter and peanut butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg; beat well.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Add to creamed mixture; mix well.
Shape dough into 3/4 inch balls; place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Gently flatten with a fork dipped in flour. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.
Yield: 4 dozen.
