Coffee Egg Nog

Looking at Cooking with Mildred Swift

  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups light cream
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups strong coffee
  • few grains salt
  • 2 cups light rum
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • nutmeg

Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Beat in sugar. Add light cream, milk, coffee, and salt. mix well. Add rum and brandy, and pour into punch bowl. Beat egg whites until they form soft peaks. Whip cream. Fold egg whites and cream together, then fold into punch. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

Makes 24 cup serving.
