Looking at Cooking with Mildred Swift
- 3 cups hot water
- 1/2 cup cup sugar
- 2 packages cherry jello
- 3 cups cold water
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 6 bottles chilled Dr. Pepper°
- few drops red coloring
Combine hot water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add jello, stirring until well dissolved. Add cold water, lemon juice, pineapple juice, salt, extract, and food coloring. Cool. Just before serving, stir in Dr. Pepper°. Serve with lots of crushed ice. Makes a little over 3 quarts or about 28 servings. Unusual with a wonderful blend of flavors, Cherry Party Punch is just what its name implies. Whether it’s a tea, a teen-age party, or a party refreshment plate, this is a delicious beverage to serve.
