  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups meal
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons fat
  • 2 eggs

Mix flour 1/2 of cornmeal, baking powder, and salt. Pour boiling water over half of cornmeal. Add eggs. Beat. Add milk and dry ingredients. Add melted fat.

Fry individual cakes on hot greased griddle. These make a Sunday morning breakfast.
