  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 2/3 cup milk

2 dozen small Biscuits

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Add milk. Mix to smooth dough. Turn out on lightly floured board. Knead lightly. Roll or pat 1/2 inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter. Place on ungreased cooky sheet. Bake in 450 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. My mother’s recipe.
