  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup sweet milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 cup melted shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt

Grease muffin pans or corn stick pans well and heat. Mix meal, flour, salt. Add other ingredients to this. Stir well, pour in greased hot pans. Bake at 450 degrees until well done. I like this baked in an iron skillet, too.
