Baby Food Cake

Alford, Central Office; Sadie Knight, FHS 2 cup sugar2 cup self-rising flour1 tsp cinnamon1 tsp nutmeg2 cup chopped pecans3 eggs slightly beaten1 cup Wesson oil2 jars baby food (plum or apricot) Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and pecans. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bake in tube pan for 55 to 60 minutes at 350°F

Jalapeno Bread

Sadie Knight, FHS 2 cup corn meal1 cut flour1 Tbsp baking powder1/2 tsp salt3 tsp cooking oil1 cup chopped onions4 jalapeno peppers1 can cream corn1/4 lb sharp cheese2 eggs3/4 cup milk Mix all ingredients and bake at 425° for 40 to 45 minutes. You can use corn bread mix and omit the first four ingredients.
