  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons milted fat

Sift dry ingredients into large bowl. Beat egg, add milk and melted fat. Make a well in center of dry ingredients. Pour wet ingredients in this. Mix well. Pour into heated, greased pan (8 inches by 8 inches by 2 inches), and bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until mixture pulls away from sides of pan.
